New member...just moved to Bonn from Scotland
Hi all,
My apologies for no deutshe! :/ I did the basics about eh 18 years ago at school, and since having moved to Bonn in June, have not yet had the time to start learning german...
I have been an SX owner for around 7 years now, and currently own both a 1991 S13 for drifting, and a 2001 S14a, both from standard, for over 5 years (pics below).
I am planning to finally import my S14a in 2 or 3 weeks, and currently intend on getting all Tuning Parts legalised by a Japanese Import specialist garage (I suspect you can guess which), TuV'd and registered - even though I am not yet sure whether I will stay for much more than the 12 months or not. :/
It would be really great to get any advice on SX ownership in Germany i.e. with regards to certain tuning parts, insurance etc...
1) Does anyone have, or know of, some LHD S14a headlights for sale?
2) Can anyone recommend a particular insurance company?
3) Is there anyone around Bonn (or Cologne) up for a few drinks some time soon?
4) I doubt I will be drifting my S14a over here, but where is the closest drift days to Bonn/Cologne?
...and any other advice/information on importing a tuned car into Germany would be very appreciated !! :top:

Welcome on board!
There are some people from Bonn and around, so meeting someone soon should not be that hard...

welcome aboard pal.
Top speed runs are killers no matter how well the car is set up.

Hi there,
welcome aboard
Check out the forums ("Suche/Biete") - there's always someone willing to sell you some LHD headlights.. (Andy200SX is selling one right one right now for 45€ with minor damage to one clip). Look for "Scheinwerfer"
For a comparison of insurance rates, you can use a website like check24.de (https://www.check24.de/versicherungen/k ... vergleich/). Insurance rates really differ very much per car (type) and other factors (driven kilometers per year etc.), you can't really say one company is the best/cheapest..
Drifting: There is a company called Drift-Schule (drift-schule.de), they have an event this weekend around Aachen (that should be just around the corner for you). There are also events in Weeze (Netherlands). That shouldn't be that far away from you either. Both of these are "wet" though.
Nice cars by the way.

Hey there!
So are you surprised to find the sxoc with being an oc?
It differs quite a lot to the UK oc tradition, sadly.
Nevertheless, have a good time around here, you should check for meetings coming up.
This sunday some folks meet up at MPS Engineering in Dülmen (150km north of Bonn)
http://www.mps-engineering.de/
28.10 is season end at TJ imports (75 km from Bonn).
http://tj-imports.com/
Sadly I ll be owning attending the first one..
Cheers,
Arne

As Benne already said, the mother of all racetracks is just a couple of minutes away.
Don't miss "Carfreitag" @ Nürburg next april!
Have fun and enjoy Germany!
